ShelterPoint Helps Shelter Pets – You Can Too!

May is National Pet Month!

This makes Spring the perfect time to celebrate our animal buddies!  And, to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of shelter pets, our employees organized donations for our local animal shelter in the Town of Hempstead, including:

We collected donations  in each of our office locations and  presented them to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter on May 22^nd during a special event held at our home office in Garden City.  ­­­

During this event, volunteers from the animal shelter talked about the benefits of animal adoption, the shelter's activities to benefit homeless animals, their pet therapy wellness center, volunteer opportunities, and pet health. But the best part of the event were the VIP guests who came to our office, two therapy dogs, Cooper & Dino!

Leading up to the event, our employees took part in a month-long journey of learning about each other’s animal companions with a daily photo of a ShelterPoint employee’s family pet featured on our internal site.  Check out the gallery below for a peek at some of those furry family members!

From ShelterPoint to shelter pets: Thank you to all the ShelterPoint employees who supported our shelter supply drive.  Together we collected over 75 items for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter!

• View ­­pets to be adopted, download pet adoption application, arrange for shelter tours on their website. 

• Send physical donations of  food and pet items noted above by dropping them off, shipping them or mailing them to this address:

• You can send financial donations by making out a check to the ‘Town of Hempstead’ and in the memo section, noting: the ‘Tails of Hope Fund’.  Tails of Hope Fund provides surgeries, cancer treatments and other extraordinary care for special situations as well as additional training for shelter animals.
