Deadline for Q1 Payments
If you haven’t already done so, it’s time to submit your CO FAMLI Q1 payment and wage reports on the MyFAMLI+ Employer portal – whether your coverage is through the State plan or you’re planning to provide a Private Plan. While the deadline is drawing near, it’s not too late – you have until April 30, 2023. The CO FAMLI Division is also granting a one-time grace period for submissions through May 31, 2023.
This means that Colorado employers – whether you’re in the private sector or a participating local government – have an additional month to get their payments and paperwork and remain compliant with this new requirement.
Though it may be tempting to wait, log into your account on MyFAMLI+ Employer or create it today. The portal is open and functional.
Important Information for Employers Choosing a Private Plan
While you’re in the MyFAMILY+ Employer portal, you may notice that Private Plans can’t be selected just yet in the drop-down to process and finalize your Private Plan for CO FAMLI coverage.
As of the date of this post, the CO FAMLI Division is reviewing the forms of insurance carriers that filed to provide a Private Plan solution in Colorado and has not yet approved any of those plans. This means that you cannot apply for the Private Plan in the portal yet, and therefore are not exempt from the Q1 contributions payment due on May 31, 2023. Once your carrier’s plan is approved and you apply through the portal, you will be exempt from future contributions and wage report submission requirements and are eligible to apply for a refund of the Q1 contributions so long as the application is received prior to October 31, 2023.
On that note, the Q1 deadline does not apply to private plan applications– but there are some important timing considerations if you’re looking to apply for private coverage before the required January 1, 2024 effective date. The private plan page on our website can guide you through those considerations and the process step-by-step.
We will keep you posted on the approval progress – Stay tuned on Private Plan approvals and other vital news on CO FAMLI with our updates. Sign up for CO updates today!
