  8. Paid Leave

For the first time since 1989, New York State is increasing the statutory (state-mandated) Short-term Disability benefits provided under the NY Disability Benefits Law (NY DBL).

With legislative approval of the DBL increase in New York State’s budget hot off the press, our work begins to ensure a smooth transition for all our customers. As we are analyzing the first set of details available on the DBL increase, we will share our key insights right here on this dedicated DBL Increase Hub. Just as we guided you through the significant market transformation when Paid Family Leave became a required benefit, we will again strive to provide you with a thoughtful break-down of what the upcoming increase will mean for you: as a broker, employer, employee – and as a ShelterPoint customer. Information will grow and expand on this hub as more details become available and regulations evolve.

Bookmark and share this page as your go-to resource as we begin this journey to higher DBL benefits.
